![]() ![]() ![]() They should also have a size limit as I'm larger and barely squeaked through the one "tight squeeze" section - they should measure that section and give guidance before the tour starts (vs just saying "there's on spot that's a tight squeeze") as there were several patrons on zoo premise that day that would never have fit through that spot which would be frustrating and embarrassing for them and cause extra work for the guide to have to walk them out. During our tour - about 6 people in front of me, a lady fell and gashed her head open thanks to the wet stairs with no rails (see more on that below) if you don't balance easily on dry flat ground this likely isn't the tour for you. The cave tour is good but extremely treacherous. ![]() This is NOT my first cave so I've seen how others handle the include/stairs/wetness/safety. The zoo attached to this cave is awesome, but very disappointed with the safeness of traversing this cave. We were so disappointed we skipped the zoo. The most exciting thing was when they turned out all the lights. That was the entire theme for the whopping (thank heaven) 20 minute cave tour. Since it is October, they decided to forgo any pertinent information about caves and their formation, and talk abut the ghosts haunting the cave. We waited another 20 minutes for the staff to organize our cave tour. (Boa, I think.) There were also two birds that were out of their cages that had messed a large area around them overnight. It took the staff about 10 minutes to "open" and there isn't much to see in he lobby except a large snake. We waited about 15 minutes for the opening and were the first people in. We arrived before opening to find that even though we were in Kentucky, this place is an hour behind on central time. Since we lived in Australia, we were excited to hear that they featured kangaroo and sheep herding. We made a special stop because this was a combination cave for my husband and a zoo for me. ![]()
